盆栽 Bonsai

A couple of years back, as a new years decoration, I got this pine tree, without even knowing if it was a black pine or a red pine. I ended up kind of keeping it as a bonsai. This year, in the heat, it had an outbreak of of mites and all the leaves went dry, but since September started a few new buds have appeared. I looked at it once more, with the feelings of one who is about to turn thirty next month. And thus, a poem.
まがり角
心を映す
松の生
unforseen corners
uncovering the heart
the life of a pine

This poem was very difficult. Previously I tranlated it as:
turning corners
the heart is revealed
the life of a pine
But following Yoshirou's description of it's meaning I changed it to the one shown in the post.
The shorter the poem, the harder it is to translate.
